Who has become a star in America playing overseas? I forgot Dominique Wilkins existed when he went overseas until his team played the Bulls. I couldnt tell you if Amare or Steph still plays without google.
Deron Williams is the only player I can remember hearing anything about when he went overseas, but that was also because there was a lockout and he was the only star player who tried it. The mentions were only a blip though.

@Supreme Leader Reinscarf fukking embarrassing himself in here saying LeMelo has more hype than LeBron did because of Instagram followers. :playoffs:

:young:

Melo doesnt even have as much hype as Lonzo did, not even in the same stratosphere as Lebron

they showed this kids HIGHSCHOOL game on ESPN!
my whole hood was in the crib for that shyt!
no bullshyt!

Telfair had more hype than fukking Lamelo he had Jay Z Ahmed Rashad and Derek Jeter showing up to watch him play on random Tuesday nights

When LeBron came to Nyc to shoot the cover of Slam Magazine with Sebastian Telfair he played is8(a local tournament in Southside Queens) everybody and their mother was there .Killers, money getters, everyone was talking about this dude pre social media. LeBron and Bassy were living damn near like NBA players in high school.

With youtube, Lonzo and Lavar, the Ball family will still be relevant.
You're vastly underrating the level of talent playing overseas. Jeremy Tyler was a bigger prospect than both Melo and LiAngelo. He was ranked #1 PF in his class before he went to Israel. He got cut from his Israeli team, couldn't get playing time. He had to go to Japan to get playing time. Brandon Jennings only got to play 19 games in Italy (the season is 40 games, and he was healthy) and he was the #1 PG in his HS class. Teams overseas need you to contribute immediately, and if they don't show their worth immediately, they won't even play. These teams already have young domestic talent that they want to develop. Now they're bringing in two foreigners that need to develop. They will need to find a team that will actually play both guys, and be willing to develop them. That's going to be really hard.

You can also hire tutors overseas if you want.
Agree to disagree. LiAngelo and LaMelo are money makers. Yeah these teams are trying to win but they are also trying o make money. And it's crazy to say but Lavar Ball and the Ball family are money makers. The dude was on CNN and NBC. The President tweets about him. Him and his sons going anywhere will be headline news. I guarantee you that ESPN will have it as headline news once they figure out where they are going. What other team can get that kind of publicity. The challenge for them is to continue to put the focus on growing as basketball players. But, in the long run, this could definitely end up better for them.
