non has the reach isn't the same. tiktok is more of a public facing site/service than any of those. I don't need an account to view multiple tiktok videos or search hashtags. users also rave about it's recommendation algorithm.
Snap is a ghost town in comparison and users have been long fed up with IG and converting to TikTok. Numbers came out a month or two ago and there's something around ~150 million more hours of content watched on TikTok daily than on IG, that's with IG pushing video to copy TikTok with Reels. There's nothing close to TikTok.

I'd be shocked if anything on this passed, more money will just exchange hands like with everything else. But this making it this far is interesting.

:russ: the U.S. always ass backwards. Worried about Tik-Tok yet letting China scoop up land and real estate.
Because the right wing US government decided corporations are people, and are entitled to many of the rights of people. The Feds cannot prevent people from purchasing property, outside of eminent domain situations.

if it passes, users either accept it or they'll just use VPN's. :ld:
Appstore wouldn't host the app.

Android brehs can sideload the app. But millions of users ain't gonna go that far

These people barely know how to Google an answer to a question; let alone have any idea what a VPN is. I’d say 1/50 would use a VPN in this situation
if teens can learn how to boost a KIA from tiktok, they can learn how to use a VPN.:aicmon:

plenty of apple users still jailbreak their iPhone although there use to be a lot more jailbreak users but after apple ripped off a lot of jail break features there wasn't as much need for it by some users.

The fact an app that takes sensitive US user data and sends it to servers in China was legal in the first place is mind-numbingly retarded...

It shows how retarded the US population and the zoomer generation is, you have to be a complete fukking idiot to install that app on a personal device...

“Can” is the keyword in your statement. And you gotta factor in that there are just as many adults on Tik Tok as there are teens

This is the whole ballgame. If we had strong privacy laws, the app wouldn't have been allowed here in the first place.

Politically, I don't think there will much fallout because those kids aren't voting anyway.

All it takes is for a few influencers to promote a clone and they will be back scrolling like they never left.
