Layoff season again

They just let go 70 people from IT and a few randoms from finance and we have been awaiting news about my department's fate for two days now.

It finally came down: they got rid of 20 people in a location out of state and we have to absorb their work: theres about 90 of us. So it's gonna be a squeeze but we are grateful.

One group is getting canned today and our asses are in here celebrating and cracking jokes. I don't know how else to handle it, tho. We go through this every couple years and it's very nerve racking.

Anyone else face this kind of thing?

Going thru it right now. I've seen nearly 70% of our facility get laid off in the last 2-3 months including the person who hired me on. I work in the oil and gas industry so everyone is feeling it. I'm just waiting on my number to be called.
