Dan Gilbert wasn't giving GMs extensions at that time

Team building would've been hit/miss going forward

The league was not gonna let LeBron, the biggest star of the 2010s, retire with no rings :beli:

Trades would've happened. Secret backroom deals would've been made.

They would've got Paul George / Chris Paul / Harden / Dame / somebody over to him.

Bro ran away from Cleveland when there was no reason to. All the teams holding him back (Boston, Orlando) were utterly irrelevant in the 2010s.

So Bron had to wait. Doing it himself was a no no?

nikka 47 saying he won't comeback after he retires. I would hope not.

As far as better send off. We don't know how LeBron's career will end yet. But ass of now LeBron has the GOAT career. He ain't the GOAT player by any means but his longvity, health & productivity is great. He's the Cal Ripken of basketball
The only problem with this, os that because LeBron has played so long, there's a cottage industry forming to imply that he wasnt that nikka in his youth. You see it here, Reddit, podcasts...he's played too long and too many of you are far too comfortable acting as if he career can be summed up to longevity, and that's wack.

Its fine if you don't think he's the GOAT. But Magic, Russell, Bird all played 13 years. Mike played 13 years in a Bulls jersey...

In that same amount of time, 13 years, LeBron was a 3x champion, 4x MVP, and had played in 7 Finals, at the age of 31, at the end of his 13th year. Regardless of whether someone thinks he the GOAT or not, calling him Cal Ripken is a voluntary dismissal of the work he did when he was young. He was always worthy of the praise he got, and he didn't prove that by playing forever---->he proved it over and over again, in the earlier stages of his career, when he was young.

Yall gotta stop acting like longevity is his greatest argument, he is on the short list of highest peaks and most dominant primes ever, THAT'S what got him into the conversation.

You just said the league would've found a way. Lol

What's organic about the league finding a way :jbhmm:

How would he have climbed the mountain if Silver/GMs finessed him great players

His greatest achievement is indeed his longevity. Magic, Bird, Jordan accompshed more in less time. He's the Cal Ripken of basketball and thats okay.

It was apparently 55 wins not 57, the leader in the east had 57. And the year before that, with MJ, they had 57. So I mixed it up.
You're still wrong because he didn't join a 55 win team. The Bulls were only 2 games above .500 when MJ came back.

The Bulls offense also was much worse without MJ. Even when they won 55 games, they went from 2nd in off rating with MJ to 14th without him, and couldn't get a bucket in big moments vs the Knicks in the playoffs.

To act like the Bulls were running on all cylinders without MJ is just misleading shyt. The next season the East was much stronger and the Bulls were mid until Mike came back.
