I feel like I be wanting to do too much and I overwhelm myself at times. Gotta stay focused and master one thing before moving on to another. It's like I wanna get my A+ cert and learn to code. I'm sure that's possible but can't overwhelm myself with too much. What I been doing past few days is learning html. I feel like I'm getting good at it. Had some minimal experience in the past but taking it further now. I got the basics down for the most part and feel like by the end of the week I should be able to fully get a grasp of it and be advanced. I already started creating a page to test out my skills. I can create links in pictures, add images, create lists, create links to within the page, underline and bold text, stuff like that. Still gotta learn more like changing font colors and background and a few other things. But I feel like I'm doing well. Was watching some videos on udemy but the one that has helped me which I started before and reset it to start again, was codecademy cuz it teaches me and has me type in the code on the page and tests me as I go along. So I'm enjoying that as well. I think that staying dedicated and giving it some time to learn each day this week should have me in a good point on Friday. Then Monday I can start learning css and after java. Eventually wanna learn Python cuz I know that's a big one and I've done some training before but I think I'm not ready for that yet and want to work my way up. Do gotta learn something tho cuz I'm not down to go back to worthless retail or call center jobs. :francis:

Anyone that creates a database in Python with SQLite, can you connect to the database remotely? Seems like MySQL, PostgreSQL is the only option to do this. I'd rather use a database manager like PHPmyadmin, DBeaver or HeidiSQL.... rather than command line.

There's like an explosion of black women going into this field. I honestly believe that if too many black people go into this then they will start imposing restrictions of some kind. Folks who've studied history know what I'm talking about.

Man you right but that's every field. That's why we need our own tech companies.

As someone who's constantly interviewing software developers, I would love to see more black female candidates. What you're worrying about isn't even on the radar.

its because coding is the most straight forward way to build yourself in a lucrative field

other areas you needa have other things like work experience/degrees/connections etc

but coding, if you learn it, its easy to enter the field and the field is growing rapidly

were/are you a developer?
Yep. But these days I wear a bunch of hats.

And yeah, maybe one day they'll start gatekeeping black women from the industry, but we're a far way from that and in the meantime we can make huge strides. Unfortunately, I can count on one hand how many black women software engineers I've gotten the privilege to work with. And I can count on two hands how many I've seen even come thru and get interviewed.
