I don't even know what OO is. But mad jobs I'm trying to apply for are asking for Python and SQL so I am hoping to just dive right into those and 'make thousands possibly millions'
OO = object oriented.
I know how to code, i guess im in the wrong part of the field. I need to get into app development. I develop test program sets for the Air Force currently.

Can't believe I never seen this thread.
I have been putting in work on the python course at codeacademy. I'm in the home stretch after about two weeks.
I also started the Javascript course. I'm a total beginner, but feel I understand the javascript questions now that I have completed most of the python. At first I didn't know what was going on (somewhat still don't). Unless you come from a programming background, codeacademy will test your endurance. There have been many times I wanted to break my screen over my code not working. Then I go out for awhile come back and all the sudden I figure out the answer
. The Q & A forums are good as well. It's like a internal version of stack overflow. However, it seems like stuff pops up everyday that I'm going to have to learn. For example learning Django, HTML, CSS, Jquery, etc

Have any of you guys tried Treehouse, Code School or any other site? I like the CodeAcademy style of constant practice, but want to also see what else is out there.

Just knowing Object Oriented programming will only get you so far as well. Very important, but that shyt is basic (relatively speaking). Plenty of more to build on that, and a lot of important things not directly built off of OO.

programming isn't easy and require dedication. I'm still a beginner and I've come to realize this. My real focus is in Network security.Learning how to write scripts is important especially when it comes to examining endless log files. After I develop confidence in PHP (which is almost identical to Perl) I may venture off into JavaScript and Jquery.
