Im setting up an online bookstore through wordpress as we speak...it's a massive headache and I'm a programmer :snoop:
Just use Big Cartel for your shopping cart and you should be set, breh.

Everything else is pretty easy, and I'm NOT a programmer.

This Pakistani breh made a million with a custom wordpress theme http://propakistani.pk/2013/08/13/pakistani-freelancer-sells-1-million-worth-of-items-online/

http://themeforest.net/item/avada-responsive-multipurpose-theme/2833226

This must have taken months or he had a team to help.
Once I get this down pat you know I'm going to be hustling some themes.

There's bit of a learning curve at first but you can become competent at it fairly quickly.

It helps to know some basic html/php, but you can find a lot of support via Google for just about any issue you encounter.
I'm kicking myself for being too intimidated to learn how to do this on my own sooner.

On one of my previous projects I hired a web developer for $1500 and he INSISTED on using Drupal. Needless to say posting to that site was a b!tch and making any changes was a pain. That project didn't last long and it was $1500 down the drain.

That whole experience kept me away from web developing all these years.

Learn how to code, brehs. Don't be scared. Just dive in.

Yes, If your creating custom themes, then you'll need to know HTML/CSS and PHP. If not then you can just follow any youtube step by step video, which is easy. If your looking to be a Plugin developer, then you'll need to know PHP. I taught myself in about a week but i already knew HTML/CSS/PHP. The Wordpress Codex can be complicated for a beginner.

you know how to code? i need a little help with something

:dwillhuh:all you got to do is install the theme, activate it and then put in your content. This is all done from wp-admin dashboard.
How about just a few hours ago the site owner said he's setting up a wordpress version :blessed: I'm set.

This post proves something to me that I never knew.
I'm highly intelligent :yeshrug:
I always felt that way, but until you validate it? You never know
I'm not a programmer, but I on my own learn things.
Wordpress has been incredibly easy to me. And I be telling people that
Then when they try it, they sound more like you are here.
Then my other manz who is mad talented with this stuff had me take an online test
I Aced it in a short amount of time and homey was shocked.
Said I need to get certified on some shyt pronto.

All this shyt kinda comes easy to me. Kind of like Neo in Matrix. I just don't believe I"m the one yet :manny:

I really need to get that css book. wrapping my head around twitter bootstrap is killing me, for some reason.

it's like I see how it works, but my brain just treats it as a blank spot. "DOES NOT COMPUTE."
