I understand how. Its childhood trauma. Im an 80s baby so both of my parents were in NA and been clean since i was like 4 so i didnt experience the horror most children in my situation went thru. Becuase my father was an active sponsor where i lived i knew every kid who had a parent in it’s dirt.

That made me more empathetic when i saw the kids wildin out were the ones getting molested,burned, and not eating
