LeBron averaged 31/7/7 at 21. Surprised he peaked that soon in terms of scoring?

the best i ever saw him with his ability to score at will was in his final season with the cavs.
Yeah, his game was so much more polished at that point than earlier in his career. Like MJ or Kobe if you could put that finished product with his athleticism in his 20s and it would be a sight to behold. It's kinda unfair how life works that way. Their athletic peaks are so short.

Youth wasted on the young :wow::mjcry:

Imagine Eagles Vick with Atlanta Vick's athleticism :picard:

Nope I was watching highlights of back then and his scoring was more complete then as it is now. He was moving off ball, wasn’t scared to shoot any jumper, posting up. It’s like that Spurs finals changed him slightly.

Eh, he was just playing an insane amount of minutes and had the ball in his hands alot. I think the '09-10 season was his real peak as a scorer. For like a 3 month stretch he was averaging like 31-7-10. He averaged 29.7 ppg that year and probably would've been over 30 if he didn't dial it down the last couple of weeks.

If we go per 100 possessions (which factors in pace and minutes) his top 5 scoring seasons are '09, '10, '08, '06, and '12.

Bron could have got 35 a night if he wanted to force the issue but we know that isn't his game at all. In 2007 he started turning it on only when needed cause i assume he realize going hard for 82 games would wear him out. But from the 2008 season on when he averaged 30 a night he could have scored much more if he was just gunning for numbers and not team success. And of course we know by 2010 that he was with the Heat which meant he wouldn't need to score 30 plus a night to win.

A lot of people say that but it can also be attributed to an excess of one man situations in the league and young guys at the time like Wade and LeBron breaking out.

Kobe taking nearly 30 shots a game and A.I. and Arenas playing 43 minutes a game for example.

Yea I hate when people say that about the 05-06 season. The same scorers were scoring before that, all you had was an influx of young, future holders having break out seasons as well.

in 2006 everyone had career highs in scoring. Kobe, Iverson, Gilly the Kid, Lebron, etc.. So i look at it as an anomaly

They had career highs in minutes too which is why they scored so much.

remember 2 years before after that 04 finals the nba changed the rules and opened the game up. 05 we seen a jump and 06 is where it all came together. Everyone killed in 06. all great wing players ATE good as fukk capped of by wade's finals

Go look at their minutes played and scoring per 36 minutes and compare it to past and future seasons.

I always looked at him as a MJ/Magic hybrid. He doesn't have that MJ/Kobe scoring mentality. Making plays for others is a huge part of what he is. Doesn't surprise me when he passes up clutch shots to make the right play:many: There's more than one way to be a great player:obama:
Nah it's his biggest mistake. He should have looked his defender in the eye and say you can't guard me. Trying to be this combo player fukked him up. Just score nikka

He’s top 3 all time in scoring, top 7 in assists, has more playoff game winners than the goat MJ, how has being a combo player fukked him up:ohhh:?
