You have to give him credit for his ability to play so long
Played so long at the elite level.

That’s the key point in here. People keep trying to turn this into a “longevity” award as though he’s bouncing from team to team as a bench guy to end his career. He’s still an All NBA player.

He’s set the GOAT standard so high that it’s gonna be hard to imagine seeing a better career happen in my lifetime.

Bron last season at 40 >>>> any Kobe season post 2010

KOBE WAS TOP 5 IN MVP VOTING
AND FIRST TEAM ALL NBA IN 2013.
WHILE PLAYING 78 GAMES.

BRON HASNT FINISHED TOP 5
NOR BEEN 1ST TEAM
SINCE THE BUBBLE.
HASNT PLAYED 78 GMS SINCE 2018.

2012-2013 Kobe 34 years old

27.3 ppg on 20 attempts per game
6 apg
5.6 rpg
46% FG
32% 3PFG

2024-2025 LeBron 40 years old

24.4 ppg on 18 attempts per game
8 apg
7.8 rpg
51% FG
37% 3PFG

Of course at 39 the year before he was even better at

25.7 ppg
8 apg
7 rpg
54% FG
41% 3PFG

And a whopping 59.9% eFG

I wouldn’t take sympathy MVP votes seriously. I’m sure all of Laker media had him #1 after he blew his Achilles. He also led the NBA is shots that year and shot the ball 130 more times than scoring champion and NBA finalist Kevin Durant despite playing 3 less games.

THE FACTS ARE KOBE WAS A TOP 5 PLAYER IN 2013
WHILE BRON HASNT BEEN ONE
SINCE 2020....
THERE ARE NO SYMPATHY
1ST TEAM ALL NBA SELECTIONS.

POSTING NUMBERS FROM
2013 IN COMPARISON TO 2024-25
IS LAUGHABLE BUT YOURE THE SAME
DUDE WHO TRIED TO COMPARE
PASSING NUMBERS FROM THE EARLY 90S
TO 2025

Kobe wasn’t top 5 anything in 2013. He was 8th in WS and 12th in WS per 48. 10th in efficiency, 8th in offensive WS, not even in the top 20 in defense, 7th in VORP, or top 20 in Orating, and this while being 3rd in usage and taking 100 more shots than anyone else.

The reason the Lakers were in a hole to begin with was his poor play in January

Furthermore 3 of the top 10 players in WS were on the same team. Durant, Westbrook and Harden. Further diluting the MVP voting between 3 players that would all go on to win MVP in the coming years.

LeBron also finished 6th in MVP voting last year. Does that mean I think LeBron was the 6th best player in the NBA last year? lol no. Maybe 8-12. That would be silly talk. As silly as thinking Kobe was a top 5 player because of MVP votes in 2013.

LeBron breaks a longevity record by being the first player to play 23 years in the NBA matching his jersey number. If LeBron plays 50 games this year, he will pass Robert Parish for the most games played in NBA history.

LeBron also passed Reggie Miller yesterday on the All-time 3 pointers made list. It was only yesterday that Steph passed Reggie on the list for the record so it's crazy that Lebron passed him too.

Confused a little bit. If he played yesterday wouldn’t he already have played 23 years?
