Pat McAfee isn't his opp. They're ESPN teammates and SAS congratulated him on getting the interview. They might have some animosity behind the scenes (which is all speculation), but neither take shots at each other publicly.
Proximity isn't really a reason because I know The Pivot podcast travels a lot, and Shannon is based in LA.
