I don't know how you can have Ibaka at two and call it right. Ibaka is a fantastic shotblocker, yes. But defensively he's very avarage. He's not a very good man-to-man defender, defends the P&R badly. There's a reason why he only plays around 28 mins per game.. He's overrated as hell defensively.

Garnett is the clear number one, anchors the best defense without any real defensive help.

I'm on record, best defender I ever saw.

Yall need to watch what that man does at the defensive end. He's the most disruptive player I've ever seen. In half court and even in transition. His energy is non stop at that end. And he's an athletic freak. 6'8" 250 with the quickness of Derrick Rose? It seems like he's in every passing lane in addition to locking down whoever.

5 LeBrons would be the best defensive team ever. You can't say that about any other defender in the history of the game.

Stop it, breh. It's a ridiculous statement. LeBron isn't NEAR the best defenders ever, are you kidding me? If you have him at the top, you can't have watched Hakeem, Garnett, Pippen, Payton and even Jordan play. All of these players are better than LeBron defensively and that's just some of the top of my head. LeBron is a very good defensive player, yes. One of the best this year but he isn't close to the best ever.

You can't use defensive rating and just ignore the fact the Heat are better than the Knicks, regardless of the improvement the Knicks may have had the Heat are still better defensively. Also, LeBron's own defensive rating was better than Tysons, so using stats to justify Tyson over LeBron is kind of silly.

Ibaka blocked a lot of shots, but he wasn't better defensively than LeBron, excellent shotblocker but who did he shut down? Why were the Thunder only 11th in defensive rating?

I'm not advocating ibaka but who the hell did lebron shut down? :wtf:

I watched all of them play.

Hakeem was a great defender no doubt. But LeBron is simply more versatile. Olajuwon is not stepping out on Rose.

Pippen was a little overrated because I think Jordan was a better defender, but either way, neither one of them is guarding any 4 or 5 unless there was a switch on a pick.

Garnett? Come on, LBJ plays almost just as long and just as intense, with more quickness and bulk. KG is not guarding anybody on the perimeter. He's simply not quick enough.

Payton? He's too small to be as effective as LeBron.

Again, 5 LeBrons is the best defensive team ever. He can give your whole starting 5 problems. You can't say that about any other player. Too much size and speed.

Quick perimeter NBA players would eat Hakeem and Garnett if they stepped outside the key.

Pippen, Payton and Jordan would get eaten by a solid big man in the post.

But LeBron guards them all with success.

Lol, wtf. Why the hell would you want Hakeem running around on the perimeter? It doesn't matter that LeBron is better at guarding more types of players, the impact Hakeem had defensively is WAY out of his league.

You obviously haven't seen Garnett in his prime. You're forgetting that he came into this league as a SF and he could guard all positions way better than LeBron. It doesn't make sense to say that Garnett isn't quick enough to guard PGs in his prime when he, himself played his share of PG in his prime. During his MVP season he was guarding literally every type of player there is in this league.

It doesn't matter that 5 LeBrons would be better than 5 Hakeems defensively. That's like saying 5 Jamal Crawfords would be better than 5 Shaqs on the court. Doesn't make any sense, Shaq is still much more impactful on the offensive end.

What? Smh at all these people who haven't seen Garnett play in his prime. Do you know how quick this man was in his prime? He could guard anyone on the floor at any given time. For example, he used to play defense on Nash when they played the Suns and during the '04 playoffs when Cassell was out, he was playing defense on guards..
