I don't think Lebron cares about Curry getting shine. It's about him and his legacy. There's alot of pressure on him to win a championship for Cleveland and he has a limited timeframe to do it. He's going to extremes because he wants it so badly. He came back to his hometown to do something that's never been done before. If he wins and pulls it off, he goes down in history and instantly puts his legacy aside the top 3 GOAT players to ever play the game. If he doesn't, he's still a top 10 goat player, but it won't be the legendary status it could have been.
Forget the clothes even. Any grown man who rides around on a hoverboard and thinks he looks cool is someone who has no self awareness. shyt is beyond cringeworthy.
People who lack self awareness and feel the need to draw excessive attention to themselves (i.e. JR) are usually cripplingly insecure and annoying to be around. It has nothing to do with individuality. If you expressing your "individuality" makes everyone around think you're a phaggit, you're probably a phaggit.
Theres has to be a balance tho. If you're just loose with no competitive fire in the belly when you step on the court, then you're going to lose simply to those who "want it more". I doubt Lebron would be trying to change the "culture" if guys were playing with heart and tenacity once they got on the court. He probably sees guys lollygagging around and not really caring that much waiting for Lebron to carry their ass to wins, and it righteously pisses him off.
You really beat this analogy to death lol

but you did make a great point. In Miami he had alot more "grown ass men" around who were serious about winning. I've met Pat Riley irl. Dude is intense.
