A week earlier on February 20th, the official State Department travel advisory for Americans in Russia told them to be aware, avoid crowds, carry ID at all times, and have an evacuation plan in case shyt goes south. But it doesn't tell them to leave immediately. That is AFTER Griner was arrested and they still hadn't issued an official advisory telling Americans to leave:
Yes, Biden informally told Americans to think about leaving for the first time on February 11th. And it looks like Griner acted pretty quick if she was getting on a plane just 6 days later. For her to be criticized for leaving just days after the first warnings to leave and weeks before the invasion and official directives is crazy.
