That’s exactly what’s happening. If you appear to get leveled in real time you will always get the call. That’s why small guys that go in the paint can get to the line consistently.
Yeah they've pretty much been reffing LeBron like this since his first ring. The 13 season is when he was noticeably getting less calls and also when he became more whiny and demonstrative towards refs as a result.

LeBron thinks free throws are a privilege. Driving does not equal deserving free throws. He's rather lucky that he doesn't get called for more offensive fouls.
