No one person is on track to become an owner when 31 other owners must agree to the transaction, but Lebron does have the best shot because of my next statement. The only black owner in the NBA did so by making the league and other owners billions in unrequited revenue. The idea of the majority of white NBA owners letting a independently wealthy black man who hasn't been vetted by them, come in and buy a team is laughable.

Lebron’s only obstacle is funding, if he can put together an ownership group in the future and there is an opening why would they freeze him out? the NBA is a business, the highest bidder wins, simple. The cavs are a garbage franchise and Dan Gilbert doesn’t know how to run a team. So don’t be surprised if he ends up selling the team and lebron becomes a front runner to buy it
