Watching Stephon Marbury’s “A Kid from Coney Island” doc on Netflix, this topic of the Starbury brand was brought up:

James said Wednesday he would never have a discount line.

“Me being with Nike, we hold our standards high. And we do a great job of putting out great merchandise, great shoes. It does come with a price that is pretty high, but at the same time you’re getting great quality for it.”
:mjpls:

Stephon, rightfully, remarked that he would rather own than be owned.

Lebron, perhaps in his youthful ignorance and misguided Nike loyalty, torpedoed a black business that was providing quality, basketball sneakers for lower income families.

For what it’s worth, I don’t believe he would make those same statements now. :troll:

Check out the documentary out on Netflix now

sad part is if you threw a swoosh on that bytch, it would sell like crack with the same fukkin material :scust:

But it ain’t the same Material tho.

For example the the LeBron 17’s got two zoom pods in the front and a large air max unit in the back and shoe is comfortable as hell.

You not getting that in a $20 dollar retail shoe.
