They would've been ok without doing it but they probably saved millions for role players who would have taken a major hit after the cap dropped if they said nothing. They offered a vague apology to Chinese fans for their continued support. They didn't make a value judgement either way on the Hong Kong situation.

He decided to go after Morey and make a value judgement about it and say Morey didn't know what he was talking about on the situation right after LeBron himself said he "didn't have enough information" about the situation

What difference does it make? The tweet you posted was LeBron not speaking up for Hong Kong, neither did Harden. Both guys caped for China so they can keep their money.
