Actually all the games were competitive except for game 6. And if the Lakers didn't blow a 20+ point lead in game 4, they head to Boston up 3-2 rather than down 3-2.

ol "if the Lakers didn't do this they would've done that"

Their game 6 loss was the largest loss in NBA history when it comes to a championship clinching game

The loss was the 2nd largest margin of victory in NBA finals history smh

See those are opinions I'm about facts

The tracking and compilation of certain arbitrary metrics are not facts. They are just numbers. Numbers that at some point were decided by someone to be tracked. And numbers don't tell us anything more than we can ascertain by using our own two eyes to watch the games.

The experience of guys who compete with these players day in day out on the court is more telling. If stats really were dispositive is guaging whether one player is better than another, then wouldn't the players be able to pick up on that?

The one thing we do know for sure is that almost every player who has competed against or watched Kobe and LeBron says Kobe is better. IMO that counts for a lot more than a bunch of arbitrary metrics.

There were still 5 games played before that one and all 5 were competitive. And in one of their losses (game 4), the Lakers held a 20+ point lead.

You're the idiot. I'm a Boston fan and the biggest KG supporter you'll find. But you're arguing that an out of prime KG,on one knee is better than prime / peak Curry :deadmanny:

Steph Curry is a horrible basketball player so it wouldn't be asking for too much to be better than him.

Gimme Rajon Rondo anyday over this scrub that hides on defense.

Kobe was the same age or around the same age as kg/Paul/ray and they competed more than the lakers after 2010 so stop it. Pau was the only all star on that lakers.

Either way when Lebron gets swept or lose in 5, he is officially out of the GOAT conversation so that's all that matters
If he is out Kobe was never in it since LEBRON IS OVER HIM IN EVERY CATEGORY

All these mental gymnastics breh

Lakers margin of victory in their two wins: 5.5 points per game
Celtics margin of vicotry in their four wins: 15.25 points per game

Well here is your fallacy. You assume stats are actually a measure of greatness on the court. They are not. We have seen countless players put up empty stats because of the system they play in. Russell Westbrook just put up arguably the greatest statistical season ever. Does that make it the best season ever by a player? Or did he play on a team and have a system that allowed him to stockpile a bunch of empty stats?

Your bank account is an objective measure of your wealth. Arbitrary numbers on a stat sheet are not an objective measure of a player's impact on the game. Anyone with half a brain knows this. That is why the saying is "the tape don't lie." Not "the box score don't lie."

Plus like I said earlier, if the box is someone an actual measure of greatness, then how come almost every player says Kobe is better than LeBron?

MAYBE BECAUSE HE THEY ERA AND NO ONE WANTS TO GIVE PROPS TO A DIFFRENT ERA ASK KYRIE NOW WHO BETTER I BET ITS A DIFFRENT ANSWER OR MAYBE THEY DONT LIKE LEBRON SAYING SOMEONE IS BETTER IS OBJECTIVE NUMBERS NOT IF ME AND U GO IN A RING AND BOX AND AFTER 3 ROUNDS HOW ARE THEY GOING TO KNOW WHO WON

Dude. We have the internet. We can look up the scores. 2008 NBA Finals - Wikipedia

Every game except game 6 was competitive. All were within 10 points or less. Game 1 was the second biggest margin of that series when the Celtics won by 10 points.

That was a tight series outside of game 6. If the Lakers don't blow that huge lead in game 4, who knows what happens.
