Where he actually ranked each year really comes down to opinion. I think he had an argument for being the best in the league in several years but I can't think of a year where I'd put him at the top. It certainly was never a slam dunk like the media generated reputation would suggest.

On the other hand, LeBron clearly separated from the pack in several years and he was never presented as a player with no weaknesses.
