It would've been bad for lebron because the lakers would've thrashed those cavs teams

Cavs matched up a lot better against the Lakers than they did against the Magic/Celtics. The Lakers didn't have an offensively-minded 5, a stretch 4, or an elite PG to exploit the Cavs defensive weaknesses, and Lebron outplayed Kobe 80% of the times they met. That's why Lebron won the vast majority of his Kobe matchups.

From the same cat that said:
"I'm almost starting to be like I'd rather not even make the playoffs than to lose in The Finals. It would hurt a lot easier if I just didn't make the playoffs and I didn't have a shot at it"

Would have been another Finals loss for LeBron tbh. Would have been too much for LeBron who hadn't won a championship vs a hungry experienced Lakers team looking for redemption.

:patrice: the lakers have never had much luck against LeBron.

since when did regular season matchups start meaning shyt for the post-season?

i recall celtics and bulls having regular season success against those heat teams too or for that shyt to mean nothing in the playoffs. probably because it does mean absolutely nothing, a 7 game series is a whole different play field. :childplease:

Kobe always had 3-4 guys on his level each year. Health and longevity is what ultimately separated him from most of them.

And you're somehow counting his health and longevity against him.

If he would have gotten hurt like TMac, he wouldn't be as good".

Thats how you sound bruh.

Me and you been doing this for years. To the point where we done found the shyt funny. But I can't let you be this ridiculous.

More often than not, the regular season matchups mirror the playoff result. There are exceptions of course.

I'm not counting it against him :what: I am saying that the media that people are calling anti-Kobe consistently ranked him off the charts in every category...well ahead of his peers who were meeting or exceeding his output each year.

And it is a fact, if he had injuries earlier in his career like some others, he wouldnt have been as good. That's just the way sports works.

It is a fact no doubt. But you're holding it against it him.

And it's reason why those other guys didn't last as long him. He wasn't as naturally talented as TMac or physically gifted as Vince. But he was a harder worker and more headstrong. That shyt counts for something. I was stationed with a dude who played football at UNC and he told me that Vince Carter was by far the laziest dude on campus back then. He was just physically on another level compared to the other guys.

I'm not holding it against him. I am questioning how an "anti-Kobe" media has given him the reputation for being the best in the game in pretty much every category (much like Jordan) yet there was no corresponding separation from his peers. Where were the years Kobe was on top and no one else was close?
