My niece lives in Memphis and I've been there to visit her once. It was only a few days though.

The question isnt about whether Memphis is a good city or not, it's about an athlete who's been heralded as the singular representation of black power in sports making this comment about one of the blackest cities in America

nikkas act astonished that Bron even gets criticized because he has a black wife and kids. So how is it he's using his white voice in front of cacs, dissing a black city, the same city where Lorraine Motel is and he just tried to put out some bullshyt shoes around that?

Y'all calling it fake outage when dude is deadass using his cac voice and is out here dikkriding Israel, when y'all told us he was the sports Malcolm X

Yall never understand that a lot of the "outrage" about Bron is just because of the shyt y'all say about him thats turns out to not be true.

I can pull up a post right now from less than a year ago where a Coli poster *literally* said all black athletes are c00ns except Bron, then yall act obtuse why shyt like this sparks interest.
You using "yall" too loosely again because none of what you described is shyt I've said.

I agree that its poor taste to clown Memphis in front of white people, but it is fake outrage because when have there been these long threads when other majority black cities were trashed by black entertainers in front of white company?

Nah okc is a developing city with a legit massive downtown now. Memphis was neglected by the state on purpose through strategic reasons ie majority black. They aren't similar. Okc metro has grown significantly in the last 15 years
I only went to OKC once and that was in August/September 2023. I wouldn't call their downtown massive but it was clear the level of investment in OKC is higher than in Memphis.

OKC still has a smaller GDP than Memphis even though it was ~245k more people, so they are around the same caliber of city. OKC is coming from a lower level, as it was a nobody until 15 years or so ago, so its trajectory is definitely pointing up, whereas Memphis is a city that was formerly more prominent a generation ago, that has stagnated. But it was already on a higher level, so as of now OKC has caught up to Memphis, and will likely surpass it, but I wouldn't say it has surpassed Memphis yet.

I mean he’s clearly been to Memphis about 50+ times, he literally was talking about Milwaukee first then brought up Memphis as well.. but weirdly that’s not getting traction lol

I don’t think he realizes the optics of saying it front of a bunch of white dudes which could be off putting , but anyone having a problem with him saying he doesn’t like destinations FOR WORK at 41 is soft and has never actually travelled for work. Some places aren’t for everyone

Milwaukee isn’t one of the most significant cities in black history

Having significance in black history because that’s where the Civil Rights movement took off, and it’s where MLK died doesn’t somehow make it a good city to visit 60 years later. I’ve stated before, but I’ve been there for work.. literally was told about shootings outside the facility, and to not leave my car outside the gate cause cars have been getting rummaged through. Was frankly my least favorite place I’ve been to

Milwaukee has a STRONG black community of people who migrated to the north after slavery. That’s where my family moved to, but I’m not gonna get bent out of shape over a ball players opinions of a city I have roots in

TYRONE GA!
Phenomenal bullshyt from LeChaim
:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

*CAC voice
*on video when he's ultra-discerning about who gets to record interviews with him
*around golfing crackers when he's long been unlikely to share any thoughts with a legit black journalist, yet so desperate to be liked by these folks
*shyts on the entire city, cites the hockey team, nascar, and culture of Nashville while his imbecilic sycophantic stans insist it's about a hotel
*does this in the aftermath of his embarrassing PR move Lorraine Motel shoes, and right before the anniversary of MLK's assassination
*the previous footage of him pretending he has connections to Memphis history and blues music, like he's a Stax connoisseur
*the "I'm 41, I said Milwaukee was trash too, by the way I hate going back to my hometown... you guys are mad my son's on the team" doubletalking
*lying about what he actually said, then pretending as a man with his hands in multiple business ventures he's obtuse about the implications of uprooting a sports franchise from a city
*still a bald bigfaced monkey nikka on PEDs who will now be without the two best players on his team, possibly en route to pulling 3 muscles and cramping from a combination of dehydration and being an antique showpiece who can't play both sides of the ball without being a net negative

What an awkward ass wind-down of not knowing how to STFU and go away. Go talk about Memphis on that horrendous podcast with your wee-man friend and flaunt your tacky ass Akron-influenced shytty hip hop tastes.

Can't believe there are people dragging Kobe into this even after death, discussing his relationship with his parents. Have we seen Gloria since LeBron told her to sit the fukk down and shut the fukk up on national tv? Is he still giving money and access to bum ass hood leprechauns like Lambo because they pipe out that fiendish whore?

:hhh::hhh::hhh:
Cue the ether instrumental :damn:

So damage the economy of one of the most significant black cities in history cuz you don’t wanna be there 2 days out the year? HUH?

NOBODY thinks of Milwaukee when they’re talking about the most important black cities

But like I said, I don’t think LeBron realized exactly what he was saying. We’re talking about a guy who is always on page 1 of a book.

Maybe he'd be more knowledgeable if he got through the first few pages a book :unimpressed:

Damage the economy?! Lmao.. Yall always do too much when it comes to Lebron man lol. Yall think he’s like Superman or something, thinking hes got major pull like that

if you think this offhand statement in a random YouTube video is somehow going to drastically cut into the Memphis economy, you gotta do a better job of understanding how local politics and economy ACTUALLY work. Cause that’s not it

I went to Memphis to visit family about 3 years ago. Definitely wouldn’t want to live there. My brother was telling me that you can pressed in different areas based on the music your playing. You can’t play Gotti on this side. You can’t play Dolph on that side. Memphis is the only place I’ve been too where I’ve seen a Dollar General had bars on the window and had a security guard posted outside. My nephew had a Hellcat and would pump gas with a gun in his hand so he wouldn’t get jacked. He makes great money because he is a manager at FedEx and lives in a gated neighborhood outside the city. He keeps his cars in the garage whenever he expects deliveries because he says delivery people would mark houses to robbed if they see certain vehicles. His car eventually got stolen while he was eating in downtown Memphis. He had an insane amount of guns, like Tony Montana levels, in his house and an AR-15 in the backseat of his car. I asked if you have to do all this to feel safe, why don’t you leave, he said this is home and don’t want to leave anywhere else.

Outside of family, I have no desire to ever go back to Memphis, however I will say the food is delicious there. All the restaurants I went to was on point.
