Cuz it's poor as hell with minimum economic infrastructure to build upon.

Poor racist whites and poor blacks in that region.

Miss me with that old Mississippi blues from the back in the day.

That region ain't got nothing going for it
Again, beyond the effects, tell us WHY

Memphis is a dirty ass city. Went there for.a wedding. Was excited to check it out. Ain't nothing out there
I went to middle school and 2 years of high school in Memphis. When my pops goes there he brings me back some ribs from Rendezvous and that’s as close as I been back to goin back to that city in 20 years

It wasn't out of nowhere, one person mentioned it and then everyone cosigned it

That's kind of what happens when everyone has the same experience, everyone gives their take on an opinion and sometimes it's gonna be lopsided one way

if memphis doesn't have the infrastructure that millionaires are used to it's the city's fault :manny: if you've lived in multiple states you'll see very quickly how folks who never left their home state are completely delusional about their surroundings even when you put facts in their face. Why couldn't a Memphis rep just visit other hoop towns and imitate what they have just to get things started?

The real question is why did no one on the Grizzlies invest in building that city up like LeBron did Cleveland?
Ja dumbass could've invested in his own hotel since he definitely knew players felt a way about being there
Go ask the current (and former) State Governor(s). The city's been intentionally sabotaged for decades. The State of Tennessee has punished Memphis, starved it of resources and actively worked against it and any attempt to better itself, all related to its black history. And on the other end, they have flooded Nashville with resources in an attempt to turn it (successfully) into the more prominent city of Tennessee.

One of the most RECENT examples

We have to stop focusing ONLY on the fire, and start holding the fire starter(s) accountable
