Duckworth was inconsistent as hell and Cliff Robinson was a young dude with no inside game. Jerome Kersey wasn't a "let's dump it into Jerome" post player. buck Williams was on his last legs and was primarily a defensive player. You're just naming names with ZERO context of how they played. Cliff Robinson frail ass had NO inside presence. Can't believe his name is even being mentioned alongside inside presence. :childplease:

:dahell: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/POR/1992.html

This thread is saying that the Blazers had no outside shooting, and no interior presence, yet made it to the NBA Finals :heh:

So what ? If anything it shows even more so how good a TEAM (as in, a lot players contribute) they were. That's the problem when you base your judgment on statistics instead of what the eye shows you. We all saw how they embarassed the two-time defending Nba Champs, sent the Thunder home and beat the so-called "best player on the planet" in the Finals.

By your logic last year's Spurs are not at an "all-time level" because their leading scorer averaged 16pts a game lol

When jason terry is your 2nd leading scorer by a wide margin, you are not one of the most talented teams of all times

Just stop

Dallas was HEAVY underdogs that series

It's a TEAM GAME BREH! It's not because the team is not top-heavy that it's not a great team. And once you sweep the two-time champs you're not underdogs anymore, anyone who saw the Lakers series knew they meant business.

I'm curious : are the Spurs 2014, whose leading scorer was at 16ppg and who gave one of the biggest ass-whoopings in NBA Finals history, a great team or nah?

Utah Jazz starting lineup 1998:

Greg Ostertag
Karl Malone
Adam Keefe (Russell started a few games)
Jeff Hornacek
John Stockton

Hornacek was 35 years old and Stockton was 36 years old. So it was Malone and 4 unathletic White guys. The only guys in the starting lineup who weren't over 34 years old were named "Keefe" and "Ostertag". And the Jazz just ran the same pick-and-roll 40-50 times a game.

Malone was the ONLY player on the team to average more than 11ppg in the playoffs.

Malone was the ONLY player on the team to average more than 5rpg in the playoffs.

The very next year, the exact same roster lost in the conference semis in 6 games to the Portland Trailblazers. The Blazers' leading scorers in that series were Isaiah Rider and Brian Grant. Byron Russell was the 2nd-leading scorer for the Jazz.

That team is supposedly better than the 2007 Spurs and every Western Conference Champ in the last 5 years. :dead:

Watch the game. It's a joke to think that that quality of bball could complete with today's championship teams:

That Jazz team somehow managed to beat Kobe and Shaq.

So you're saying having Jet as a second scorer automatically makes you a not great team, regardless of your achievements :francis:? shyt, it shows me even more that it was a great TEAM (as in a COLLECTIVE) since they trashed the Lakers, Thunder and Heat thanks to the team. or do we just forget how the Mavs were handling those teams? I know you remember Barea, Peja, Marion, Chandler, Kidd etc making huge contributions during the whole playoffs to beat those teams. That's what a great TEAM does.
