LeBron was gunning in that 1st Qrt. Swagger and not giving a damn. Sure they were down 7....but he had 14. The next time he took a shot....they were down 25. Now I understand the Spurs had an historically great shooting half. I get that its tough to come back from a game like that.

With that said...the game was there for the taking.

The Heat were down 9 when he came back at the end of the 3rd.......
I was thinking great....LeBron's rested....he can make sure the end this qrt on a good note...instead...he just decided to pass the ball around.

And he let Leonard literally outplay him the entire game. He's too great for that. But what was worse...he was too "ok" with that.

He only put up 5 shots in the 2nd half (2 when the game was over)

And you could see once LeBron started over thinking...he allowed the Spurs defense to get, for Leonard to get comfortable and confident. He's the smartest player in the league (imo), but over thinks too much.

Still think he's going to have a great game 4 and win. Its just disappointing to see him in gunner mode one game...then passive mode the next game.

The haters will talk....he will respond....its just he has to stop waiting until his back is against the wall to go LeGod mode.

oh and :mjpls:

He does overthink sometimes and gets into these stretches where he is not thinking about finishing a play, but rather where he can dish the ball too

Its hard to imagine the Heat losing this series if he would stay more aggressive getting his own shots

He gets easily affected by calls too, there was a thread that get laughed at, but its clear he has some sort of active head where he is constantly over thinking/analyzing shyt

He is such a deadly player when he gets tunnel vision and looks to score

He has trouble balancing his offense when Wade plays well this year.
IMO they almost never have a game where both of them just go the fukk off. It's always either one or the other, and whoever ISN'T dominating might drop like 19 or some shyt.

Normally, I'd think this argument is weak, that maybe tonight was just Leonard's night. But when Lebron dropped his headband last year in the finals - like Piccolo taking off his weighted gear - he went to another level.

I dunno, tho

True. Too much ball watching or trying to figure out spacing on the court.

That was his downfall in the finals against the Mavs as well. He didnt play on instinct.

nah he didnt overthink.. they were tired as fukk.. they swarmed the 3 quarter..

he played hard the first 2...

but without kawhi's magical game..and green easy defense on wade... would it be this bad? no.. cause miami played well enough..

but the slow start.. is enough to give the opposing team a shytload of confidence...

Kinda reminds me of the basketball peyton manning with the overthinking(albeit Lebron is much more successful). I think his biggest issue tonight is that he stopped shooting the J and relied to much on driving in the ball when the Spurs were clogging up the lane. Usually you want him to drive in more and shoot less but his J has been on point so far this series and it was the x factor in why they closed out the series last year and it was the x factor of what put them in a comfortable position to win the game in game 2 of this season.

so he is a mental midget?

Not a mental midget at all.

You gotta look at LeBron like a running QB. Sometimes a running QB trusts his legs too much and that gets him trouble. With LeBron...sometimes he trust his basketball smarts too much and is too focused on making "the right play" and that gets him trouble. And he's made a career and had a lot of success doing just that....however sometimes it gets him trouble like tonight.

ETA: The poster above made a better example by using Peyton Manning.
