Kyrie and Love should definitely be the #1 and #2 options during the season, Lebron needs to be smart and save himself for the playoffs..if he keeps trying to be the #1 guy, he will be exhausted by the playoffs..especially with these new back issues

Whole reason why he came to Cleveland was because his work load was so much in Miami and he knew there was no young talent to do the heavy lifting as he got older.

The great majority of NBA teams that were title contenders with older stars always had youngesr stars to do the heavy lifting.

Older Shaq had a young Wade and Kobe.
Older Jordan had a young pip
Older Kareem had young Worthy and Magic
Older Oscar Robertson had a young Lou Alcindor
Older Wade had a younger Bosh and Lebron
Older David Robinson had a younger Tim Duncan
Older Tim Duncan had a younger Parker and Manu
Older Dr. J had a younger Moses Malone

And on and on.

Lebron knew this and being very smart put himself in a position to have younger support like those listed above.

Considering LeBron starting look like Karl Malone out there just trying to shoot and bulldoze with no first step explosiveness and no bounce to finish above the rim, this is wise on his part. The days of him being able to do everything on his own are over.

But this happened to all the great athletes. Jordan came back from retirement and couldn't do what he once was able to do. So pippen took on more of the scoring and play maker roll.

David Robinson wasn't the athlete that he was before the back injury and happily gave up the number on option to Duncan.

All time great players have always had young stars that they can lean on as there athletic ability erodes. Why should Lebron be any different.

Hell Lebron basically did the same in Miami for Wade. He was wades young help.

That boy Duncan still a beast :whew:

Yep and the reason why is that the Spurs surrounded him with young pieces so he didn't have to do so much heavy lifting in his late 20s and early 30s.

If Duncan didn't get that help he would have been burned out and out of the league by now.

Hell why you think Kareem able to play till 42 at a effective rate? Without Worth, Green, Magic and Scott. Kareem may have been done a 35.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
Only bits and pieces. Thats why I said game 1. I was tuned into the Spurs/OKC game

With the exception of where he was getting the ball in game one..... he still ended up taking 17 shots. He needs more looks from the elbow consistently but he's in the paint and they are looking for him.

He hasn't played basketball in 6 months. It's going to be a while before they figure that part out but he looked like his old Minnesota self last night.

Kyrie will work himself into it....he'll find ways to score and LeBron can play Magic for once in his career during the regular season.
