I grew up in the DMV and I remember how panicked it was at the time (I was in middle school). We were told to stay indoors unless we ABSOLUTELY had to go outside. The sniper was shooting people indiscriminately, kids included. Lots of parents worried about their kids’ safety as well as their own.
