Legend Has It... Campaign (Nas, Slick Rick, GFK, Rae, Mobb Deep, Big L, De La Soul albums otw)

I doubt Nas will drop last. Can't see him sitting on a finished album (assuming it's finished or nearly so) for the next 7 months.

With that said, Reddit dude had said Slick tomorrow (obviously not the case anymore) and Rae in mid May. So it would seem Rae is up first.

Reddit dude Exact Contribution54 is the real deal plug. Announced the Legend Has It series name, full lineup and the confirmed titles for Rae and Ghost albums weeks back. If they had Rick up first with a title and an April 18 release date, seem like his album ready or very close. Could still be first up and just got pushed back a week or two.

I doubt there's gonna be a big rollout for every album. Maybe drop a video a day or two before the album and do the biggest promo run that first week. I do hope they got physicals ready to go or at least don't take six months to ship though.

From that promo video it looks like they have the physicals pressed up. Was the theme of the video after all so you’d hope that would be the case.

Yes he is the real deal and has been so for years. He knew EVERYTHING about KD2, Magic, KD3 and Magic 2.

I think there will be promo. At the very least interviews and music videos. Nas has already promoted the Legend Has It series more than he did his own last two albums before they dropped.

It's a unique opportunity. Because you can promote the series as a whole and also the individual projects. I hope there's some crossover with the artists too. Nas, Rae, Ghost and Rick should all be on each other's albums. I could see Nas and Rae having multiple verses on the Mobb album too with the history there.

Remember that was the album that brought the Wu back to relevance.

Seems like the Clan don't reach out to RZA much anymore in terms of beats or producing, so I will be curious to see who the producers are and exec producers of this album.

I know these projects wont benefit from the biggest budgets so the dream is that they will be super well curated to the point theyre significant additions to all their discographies. Last GFK project on the same label was... a collection of loosies i feel

I really wish they didn’t call it SC2, unless they know they got a banger. Because supreme clientele is a top 10-15 album of mine. Its gonna be real hard to live up to the hype.

Hopefully the budget was higher for beats and clearances, because ghosts last album was the worst in his catalog and he got a top 5 catalog

I agree the last Ghost album, which actually came out pretty recently i think, seemed there was a lot of filler on it and no theme or cohesion.

But I do hope these albums have some type of decent budgets. I mean, I don't wanna hear Ghost or the Ruler over some cheap unknown producer's $5 Soundcloud beats.

It would be nice to actually hear some soul samples again, like the old school way.

Was watching in interview on YouTube last night wit Ghost...he said he got joints from 03 on the album and that he was saving his best joints over the years in the stash for it...he said june or July it's dropping...Sc2...Indiana Tone and the temple of Goons lol
