The album is all over the place topic wise & in song structure that’s why. The album is good… is it as good as his last album? No. But it’s better than the album he dropped while in prison by far.
In my opinion in Slick Rick's case it's MUCH better than NO ALBUM AT ALL
What im a bit surprised though its how condensed it is considering the amount of time it took to work on it (and yes i understand the visuals included)

Rick said it took 4 years to complete the album.
If we take in the fact Rick did the majority of his own production, plus the writing, filming the movie (which was shot across three different continents) then masterminding the marketing and promotion which includes the film premieres at various large scale film festivals; I think 4 years makes sense.
