Can't wait for Ghost and to get a sense if any of the album survived from the initial Kanye shyt, or did Ghost redo it. There was also a pre-Kanye era for the album but I don't remember who was working on it at the time.

Kanye was on the Set The Tone Album but the song wasn’t very good. At this point i’d rather Ghost just go with whoever is inspiring him to rap at a high level and not just force Kanye beats for the sake of Kanye beats. Sure the hype would be there but Kanye is 100% off his rocker and I could see him sabotaging the album by tweeting a full Nazi influenced diatribe about how Swedish women with blue eyes give birth to smartest babies or just shytting out some lazy production the way he’s been doing the last two years and calling it gold.

Keep anything Kanye influenced FAR FAR AWAY from Supreme Clientele 2 I say.

Oh I generally agree but the initial SC2 stuff they were doing was before he went ape shyt/anti-black Nazi. Remember he got Ghost on the New God Flow remix and then a couple years later was talking about Kanye on Blue & Cream, then it became SC2.

Either way I'm excited. Ghost sounded great on the Rae album.

Ghost has been stashing away beats/songs for SC2 since mid the 2000s.

The news of the entire Kanye "exec producing" came from a 2021 social media post saying Ye, Mike Dean and "producerpluguni.com" were exec producing the album with a Feb 2022 release date which Ghost immediately downplayed as one of the people handling his socials overstepping.

Obviously we're 4 years later from that post that Ghost walked back in the moment and Kanye's batshyt, so who knows if any of that's still relevant or was even relevant at the time.

Like, here's an interview from 2013 where he's saying he's dropping SC2 that year and he needs to do it b/c he's been sitting on it for like 3 years at that point (5:58):

Here's him 2014:
Ghostface Killah Discusses “Supreme Clientele 2” Status
During an exclusive interview that premiered in the DX Daily today (October 7), Wu-Tang Clan lyricist Ghostface Killah revealed that Supreme Clientele 2 is being worked on. Fully titled Supreme Clientele 2: Blue & Cream, the album is described as “a whole different ball game” by Ghostface.

According to the rapper, who spoke to DX during a press conference held for Wu Tang’s A Better Tomorrow album, he’s waiting on samples to be cleared and is also hoping to secure several features for the project.

Additionally, Ghostface shared that Supreme Clientele 2 will be “one of the best albums” he’s ever released.

“I think I get better at what I do,” Ghostface Killah said. “I learn. You know what I mean? That’s why with the Blue & Cream Supreme Clientele 2 it’s gonna be a whole different ball game, baby. I just gotta hope my samples get cleared. I just don’t got the people on it that I want to get on it because I’ve been doing so much other stuff like that. So, once I can complete that and maybe find a home for it—Cause I haven’t shopped it yet. I’m just doing what I do…It’ll probably be one of the best albums I ever did. After that I’m done with it.”

So it's been worked on forever, it's had many permutations and no one's going to know what's actually on the album until he drops the info or the album itself..

except Chedda Bang says he's got a beat on it.

And ProducerPlug says he's still on there referencing Hawaii sessions

I get that the Kanye production and involvement was pre-Nazi Ye, but the fact that any strong involvement from him would in turn allow Kanye to make it a royal circus that centers on HIM and not and the ALBUM remains. Current day Kanye is not someone you deal with if you want a smooth album launch that focuses on the music, which is what this Legend Has It series has been about. Nas even switched up an entire verse, a DOPE verse, on Raekwon’s album so there would be no controversy and the focus would remain on Rae and the music. Kanye is not selfless or self aware or sane enough to just let the music speak for itself.

If Ghost really wanted to re-invoke the spirit of Supreme Clientele he’d get RZA involved but I can safely say that ain’t happening, so in the interim i’ll be good with whoever he picked production wise. I’m choosing to believe that Ghost still has it in him to have a good ear for production (He used to be the BEST in the Wu for that) and his last two mid albums were flukes. He knows what the pressure of a numbered sequel brings and he’s also been a heavy part of one that actually was pulled off almost flawlessly (OBFCL2) so i’m just optimistic that he’s been cooking something special.

Mass Appeal and this campaign have been 2/2 so far in my opinion. Ricky D’s album was dope and Rae’s album was dope. I REFUSE to believe that Tony Stark won’t make it 3/3

Nah, Rza is washed. Bronze Nazareth is really the only answer here for the authentic Wu sound

RZA still got it, you just gotta deep dive for it. But I was saying get him involved mainly as an executive producer the way he was on the first Supreme Clientele. He doesn’t HAVE to produce, maybe contribute 1 or 2 from his finest stash, but really he’d help with sequencing, farming beats FROM the likes of the Bronze Nazareth’s or the Mathematics or the usual suspects of the Alchemists, Conductor’s, etc. I feel he could still flourish in that type of role.

Only way I'd want RZA involved with any rapper is if he just opened the vaults and let you pick from the late 90s folders. Didn't Busta say something about there being a bunch of Forever-era beats that nobody rapped over? I don't think RZA has given a shyt about rap or beats in a very long time.

He apparently gave a bunch of those beats away in like 2016-2018. Nas got a few for Lost Tapes 2, Busta got some, and a few other rappers.

Mass Appeal just posted a teaser on their stories.

Ghostface confirmed for August

Heeeeeeere we go :ahh:

Bronze Bracelet? Wonder if that‘s a reference to Bronze Nazareth production. :jbhmm:

Or it’s just supposed to be the OG gold one but tarnished due to age.

Yeah, probably that actually.
