Top 2??? Murda Muzik is a fukkin classic. But you got it above either Infamous or HOE?

at times… murda muzik is my favorite mobb album

but its really at 3 and at times i got it above hell on earth

i think Hell on Earth is peak east coast rap
and P on that album is a top 3 rapper ever

but what Murda Muzik has that HOE doesnt is song like Streets Raised Me… Quiet Storm

murda muzik is a bit more grounded in reality similar to Infamous…
which is why, depending on my mood its sometimes my favorite mobb album

even the production… its a bit more diverse… and beats like allustrious just sound very grandiose very anthemic i guess

if any of that makes sense

infamous is easily there best album tho

Yeah bro sometimes I'm in the mood for Murda Muzik over the others. The album is less sinister and evil sounding than the previous 2 albums, and sometimes I'm in the mood for that. P's rhyme style on there too is really cool. It's starting to stray away towards the more "thug spoken word" flow that he'd develop in later years, where more stuff doesn't rhyme, and filled with more non-sequiturs and randomness. But it's still pretty grounded and "in the pocket", if that makes sense.

There's also so much fire when you throw in the bootleg versions, that there's basically like 25-35 really good tracks worth of material you can listen to for that album...Pile Raps, Nobody Likes Me, Gat Blow, Perfect Plot, Thrill Me, 3 the Hard Way, Never Goin Back, etc. Lots of fire that didn't make the retail.

I got Infamous in my top 5 albums of all time. But there’s times where I listen to HOE and think the beats, rhymes and flow of the album is better than Infamous.

That’s how highly I think of infamous and HOE.

That album is with Doom’s family/estate. The way Ghost made it sound its a lot of red tape around that so probably not worth the headache.

Not just the estate, but even if Dooms estate was cool with it there would probably be a ton of sample clearance issues.

nah i’m the same way with HOE… it really depends on my mood

1 thing that HOE has above mm & infamous… its really a small detail
but that shyt is fire to me

is hell on earth has alot of beats that just build up…

animal instinct… especially the way creep into his verse… that shyt is:scust:
apostles warning
give it up fast
god 3

the way the beats just fade in or they got a slow build and when the shyt drop it just smack

I don't disagree, but there are times when I want to hear some less evil sounding Mobb shyt. There's stuff on Murda Muzik like It's Mine, Quiet Storm, The Realest, Streets Raised Me, Where Ya Heart At...that's just got a different energy. It's still Mobb's sound, but it's not as relentlessly dark. I usually listen to Infamous and Hell more in the winter time, and Murda Muzik more in late summer/early fall. Right now is like a perfect Murda Muzik time of year.

@qnsfinest and @2ATMsYouSteppinOrWhat if someone isn't onto Mobb Deep yet and they're a younger head or not into really evil sounding beats, Murda Muzik a lot of times is the first Mobb album I recommend. I've told a few young cats to check out Infamous and it's just too "unc" sounding for some really young kids, and Hell is just so dark and scary sounding. They often need easier access point, and a lot of times it's Murda Muzik.

If they just want a couple songs for a playlist, obviously Shook Ones 2 is gonna be the first recommendation.

I agree. With Mobb and would be no different than with Nas or Jay. If theres a younger dude who hasn’t listened to either and wanted to start. I wouldn’t recommend Infamous, Illmatic, reasonable doubt. I would tell them to start with IWW or even I Am, murda muzik and blueprint and go from there.

Looking forward to the Mobb album next month and I started thinking. After Mobb figure there are four more projects left.......once those are completed and released, Mass Appeal should do something big.

Create a box set with all of the projects. Nas and the other acts should lock in with a respected hip-hop journalist, and/or photographer.....give us a nice hardcover book. Give each act a chapter (anecdotes, short biographies, "making of a classic album" interviews, photos, etc). Maybe even a documentary with performance footage, clips of studio sessions during the makings of the Legends albums, etc).

It would make for a dope collectible, and it would tie in Mass Appeals standing as not just a music label but all of its other facets.

I lost touch with the Mobb post Murda Muzik, is there a decent playlist of the later releases that a stan of the Infamous, HOE & Murda Muzik would fukk with!?
