How exactly it pans out depends on your genes, and apparently it is passed down from your mothers side of the family(her father and grandfather are the best indicators of your hairline). The face operates totally differently, not unlike the hair on your arms or chest.

Most people who grow really long, full beards or just grew facial really early in life have high testerone levels. too much becomes DHT, DHT = balding.

i kinda believe the facial hair/hairline correlation thing brehs

You always see pictures of old ass native americans with full heads of hair (unless they purposely shave their shyts like the Pawnee or Mohawk) but they dont even have whiskers like a rat.

in fact ive never seen a Native with a receding hairline and I've never seen a Native with facial hair
