Leon Bridges is the Middle Age White Woman Whisperer

I ended up at a Leon Bridges concert last night. I actually mostly went for Little Dragon who were the opening act. But, I like a few of Leon Bridges songs, especially the ones he did with Khruangbin. But otherwise, I didn't really listen to him like that.

shyt was crazy though. The audience literally switched between Little Dragon and Leon Bridges. Little Dragon audience was younger and darker. Then when Leon Bridges I was suddenly surrounded in a sea of white and several cowboy hats.

These white women were acting like they were watching Elvis. shyt was crazy. I had no idea this dude was THAT big in the 40 white mom demographic. I felt like I was at a country music concert.

Was anyone else aware of his appeal in that community?

Yeah I get it. It was interesting because the dudes entire band was black and a lot of songs he outright speak about relationships with a black woman. He even had a song called "Brown Skin Woman" and I looked around and saw nothing but white MAGA looking folks and thinking how they were digesting that.

Also, he is talented but it's hard to put my finger on it. Like he tries to channel Sam Cooke and old school soul but it was like...I couldn't really vibe with his music. It had that white person type rhythm to it even if he is trying to channel black artists.

Don't be fooled. Those white folks aren't MAGA supporters. They might share a similar skin tone as MAGA supporters, but they mostly despise MAGA. Now if you were at a Kid Rock concert yeah you'd be surrounded by MAGA people.
