It probably wouldn't make a difference at this point. People are going to boo regardless just for the fact that Roman is in there and Daniel Bryan doesn't have a good chance of winning unless Vince caves in to the

Can't back off two years straight and use Bryan and Rollins to bail you out.
I dont want the RR to lose its kayfabe prestige though Vince has done a good job at doing that already.
Entire RR seemed like it was booked by a Reigns tumblr fangirl, and while they dont have to have Rome leave Mania with the belt, I still think the match should continue.
They're simply going to have to do some serious creative booking leading up to Mania.
Their biggest issue is that no one in that arena will buy Reigns beating Brock clean. No one.
They're going to perhaps have to pull a swerve or end the show with a Rollins cash in, but they have to eat the L, smarten up, and move forward.

The mania 2000 main event wasn't great because Vince had to get involved. That's still better than what we are in for with the crowd giving the main event the Brock vs Goldberg or 2007 lockdown blindfolded steel cage match treatment.
