man you cant have a great dunk contest every year. the best dunkers dont want to do it every year, and its hard to come up with something no one has seen before, especially if you have seen those professional dunkers. also they are probably afraid to embarrass themselves if they cant make the dunk on the first try and have people like yall complaining they cant make dunks like they used to.....when them dudes back in the 80s never really did anything that difficult anyway.

As long as actual all stars participate in the skills and three point competition but not the dunk contest, it'll always be lackluster.
Bron didn't even do it his rookie season but made sure the rookie/sophomore game was a dunk contest.
