it's true that defense never mattered much but not like this. There weren't guys not getting back cherry pickin all game like Davis has been. Plus, in the 4th it did get competitive. I remember Jordan being competitive and Kobe being competitive and Iverson and Marbury when the East was losing every year they was competitive
