Some people just don't feel like talking. PS4 makes it VERY easy to get on a chat. You can use the mic that came with it, plug your own headphone/mic into the controller or buy a wireless headphone/mic like the PS Golds or something similar. Most of the time what it is, is that folks are talking but are in parties.

The mic that comes with the ps4 is and I have a mic but don't really give a shyt about talking to most of these idiots online anyways. Only time I use my mic is in a party but for the most part I just stick with my regular headphones.
