The grunge era's Big Four alone > everything in the 2000s.
Adding all the R&B artists and rappers from the 90s to the mix too would be overkill

The first half of the early 2000s was solid, and almost as good as the 90s.
The second half was garbage though. (Basically anything after 2006)
Everything took a turn for the worse when J Dilla passed and the South took over.
The late 60s through early 80s were the best time for music overall though. The 70s in particular blessed us with the GOAT black music.There’s a reason so many rappers sampled their beats from that era.
