Some people are private and don't want there picture out, why does it matter? All my social with my face all over it is private with low followers and I know them. Here you have no control after you post. Some dudes are crazy creeps. Someone saved my avi and posted it on their twitter. I'm sure others do too just weren't crazy/bold enough to tell me they were saving things. Some people save every pic you post and you don't have to be a dime. So no thanks.

I agree with your post but you should recognize that message boards are another form of social media... The whole point of message boards is socialising.

Difference is social media consists of mainly people you actually know irl or live in the same area. It's people from all over on a message board. If the male/female ratio were equal, then it'd be an incentive to show your face
