I cant even comment on this thread breh. We've had elders literally give up their lives so we can even have the outlet to have these conversations. All this talk of Baby Boomers fukking things up smh. What did the Baby Boomers fukk up? How was our condition any better than compared to now?

On the real, you really need to do research, Breh. You really understand that they didn't do Anything! This is why we still fighting the same demons. All they did was talk tough and it got real, they ran! This is not opinions, this is FACTS! I can pull up articles videos books any thing you name it

@D!ck Schaap's Ghost

Thoughts on this? I'm just negging and keeping it moving at this point.

Pretty much...... When I hear a statement like this, it's indicative of a special kind of ignorance and naivete that nothing fruitful can come from..... It's not possible...

The fact that you can form your mouth to denigrate those who were willing to sacrifice not just their lives, but the lives of their wives and kids.. for the betterment of generations to come, shows a lack of reverence... Those soldiers should be beyond reproach... that's first and foremost..

Also, if a person of color is the first one that comes to mind when assessing blame for our current situation, then your mindset is more akin to the oppressors than one whom is pro black....

How can you blame a victim for this jam we're in.. How can you point fingers at someone whom had it 10 times worse(at least) than we ever did.... and conjure up the nerve to blame them for black America's plight.... it's the definition of cowardice....

Who was the brother/sister that wrote the black codes..... ?

Who was the brother/sister that passed Jim Crow statutes?

Who was the brother/sister that ran the judicial system that ignored domestic terrorism against people of color?

Who was the brother/sister that gave the police force the authority to act as a de facto terrorist group to commit acts of violence against blacks with impunity?

What brother/sister ran the legislative branch of government that passed public policy that supported job discrimination, redlining, and unethical lending practices?

The mindset on display in this thread is not only irrational, but unethical.... I don't take this internet shyt seriously...... but I've had heard comments like this in real life..... and its always from someone whom is not fit to lead, or don't even have their own shyt together.... I'm sure that description applies to the posters echoing the sentiments in question as well....

We have the highest spending power in the world and put it in everybody else's hands except our own. Claim to hate the white man but love making him rich. Even got songs that go "Versace Versace Versace."

The solution simple.

Very simple. The fact that there is no Black Super PAC is insane to me...

But your looking at it thru the eyes of someone looking back. Could they have done more? Maybe maybe not. Everybody just looks at the integration issue. But yall seem to forget we had a bunch of black nationalists back than and they were all killed or locked up. Im all for building for future generations but we cant blame the previous generations for not knowing the value of that

And I noticed you bring up the Negro Leagues. Are you undermining the importance of what Jackie Robinson did?

There were people warning us even back then. Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X spring to mind. And Jackie Robinson pretty much destroyed the negro leagues. Even now, afro Hispanics run baseball. So who would actually watch inferior white athletes if there were still all black leagues. ESPN is really gonna give a billion dollar contract to see perennial league MVP dirk nowitsky, when u got Bron melo wade etc in their own league.

And as far as the activists getting killed, in war people die. It is what it is. But to surrender your manhood and live on your knees because you're afraid of death is cowardly. In fact the whole notion of marching and praying is cowardly. We forget all about the boycotts Dr. King organized that produced results. We've let them change the narrative to "we marched and fought for you to...". No white people realized they could extract all of our money out of the community by giving the illusion of inclusion... Then Asians followed that blueprint, then Arabs, and now Mexicans.

Some of us are just programmed to think the white man's ice is colder

They truly believe in changing the ideas and morals of the white man.
When malcolm said the white man's inherent nature was the devil they hit him with :comeon:

Same black civil rights leaders would not sit at a table with Elijah Muhammad. .... but would sit with ALL white politicians.

Only one who smartend up was MLK and he got shot up after he switch his speech the last couple years. Met elijah muhammad and immediately was like " I've led my people into a burning house"

My initial instincts are to feel sorry for you. Its quite obvious you are consumed with an almost fatalistic sense of feeling failed by the older men and women in your life, whom raised you and existed in your social circle. It seems to have crippled your worldview, and any sense of peace of mind.

I had the luxury of being nurtured by caring, smart, loving black men and women, who encouraged my development. Never perfect, but always there for me. Those values instilled in me have served as an internal bedrock during triumphs and dark days. So I should have pity on you...

But I dont.

I read what you vomited it out, and I too become sick through your words. Your disgusting , racist agenda in painting older black people as dumb, valueless, and w/o courage is revolting beyond measure. Blaming innocent black people for these awful events (like any racist would do), you couldnt wait to use these recent tragedies as an excuse to pursue your ghastly agenda.

So Im angry. Im angry that a great man like Philando Castile had his life so unfairly taken away, while a worthless brat like you is still here infect the world with your aimless venom and bytchiness. You have zero concern for anyone but yourself.

It doesnt take a genius to figure out that when you talk about no hope for black people, you really mean yourself. You know you dont have the skills or qualities to make it, and you see a world that is leaving you behind. You try like mad to drag everyone else down with you, but like everything else in your life you're gunna fail.

fukk you, sincerely.

R.I.P Philando Castile

We literally have countless footage of our elders getting beat on and attacked by dogs and fire hoses just for protesting. Lets not even talk about what the Black Panthers tried to do. But most of them ended up jail or dead. Breh we couldn't even vote at one point and they fought for that. We still have a long way to go but we are only 150 years removed from being in chains

What do you think they should've done different and what are you doing to improve our condition?

This isn't true.
Nor is it a statistic with any real value.
Your sentiment is on point though, clearly our consumption as a people is steered in the wrong direction.

I don't think @DrX mentioned once whether or not he was one of the ones suffering from the mistakes of the previous generations. So now you're just making assumptions. Surely you didn't read ANY of the thread.

Posters like this is why this forum sucks. You just read the title of the thread, come in and post and don't even know what's going on...

In the Clouds
I was arguing with some old heads about this last week. Told them the reason why this generation is fukked up is because of them. They raised us. Case and point.

Acted as if we were gonna do what we wanted to do no matter what they said. When in reality they didn't teach us shyt. All they did was told us go get the biggest switch off a tree when we did something that embarrassed them. Never taught us economics never taught to not spend money on shyt that depreciates in value, because they don't even know. This is why I laugh when some old head thinks he's more wise or more knowledgeable than me. His generation was full of idiot baby boomers
:mjlol:

Instead of proving me wrong with factual evidence, they decided to not take accountability, and took what I said personally. When you make a general statement and people get offended what does this tell you... It applies to them personally.

Throw a rock at a pack of dogs and the hit dog(s) will holler.

And could the reason they never taught the next generation is because they've never had anyone teaching them these exact same things?

I'd even argue that our generation would be held more accountable for our collective plight because at this point we have access to information they never dreamed of acquiring. We can also network in ways previous generations couldn't, so what's stopping us?

Greater participation would have been a good thing.
Would have been the best thing.
And raising the next generation correctly.
An incredible amount was done in a such a short time, it's disheartening when you realize it was only around 15-20% of AAs actively participating.
