Completely different positions its hard to say one is better than the other. That's like saying Darrellle Revis is better than Michael Strahan or vice versa. They're both 2 of the best to ever play their position though and that's no question.

Who's a better player than Ed on that Canes team?:stopitslime:

no one on that squad had the longevity combined with productivity of reed. don't know who else you can call a better NFL player

shockey - started his career with a bang but flamed out after injuries

winslow - see shockey

bryant mckinnie - very good years with the vikes til he got fat and lazy. was able to redeem himself with baltimore

andre johnson - stellar NFL career...was he ever the clear cut best receiver in the league? always seemed to be #2 or #3 behind T.O, Randy, Chad, Megatron etc

najeh davenport - serviceable 3rd down back/returner for a couple years

portis - had a couple great seasons on denver/washington, then got worked to death

gore - pretty good NFL career

nobody on that d-line did much in the league...damione lewis, william joseph, mcdougle etc

vilma - good NFL career

d.j. williams - good NFL career

phillip buchanon - came and went

mike rumph - came and went

A lot of people see this as Ray Lewis' team and Ray's defense. Everything about the Baltimore Ravens, a lot of it is focused on Ray," Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth said. "And that's the thing about Ed is, he doesn't care. He gives those impassioned speeches that motivate us as a team from time to time. When there is a gripe on the team, or when we need some rest, he'll go upstairs and confront Coach [John] Harbaugh just as much, if not more, than Ray. But that doesn't get reported, and Ed doesn't care. Because he's genuine. It's not about how it looks. It's not about who's going to be [mad] at him. It's not about who is going to love him. It's about what he thinks is best for the tea

Sorta sounds like Foxworth's taking a shot at Ray here

Ed just always be in the right place at the right time.

Brian Dawkins was better than Reed. he made plays on the ball, in a scheme that left defenseive backs on an island

How many of those tip interceptions does Reed have. Thats like 80% of his interception

Wouldn't say he's completely wrong though. As much as I like Ray he does seem to be a little over the top with some of his histrionics/antics. I'm sure some of the guys on the Ravens could do with maybe toning down the inspirational speeches sometimes, these are grown men/professionals we're talking about here.:yeshrug:
