My loctician has gone M.I.A. I'm looking for a new loctician but these prices are crazy. I may have to be a freeformer from here on out.

You have locs too? How much are you being charged? I get charged $90 for a retwist, wash, and two strand style. It's not bad to me... But I only get it done every 7 to 8 weeks.

Didn’t work out, ate, and drank like a nikka off my 600lb life during the pandemic and now I’m finally starting to see the outcome of that lifestyle smh nothing major health wise, but I lost my 6 pack and gained a little gut.

My fast metabolism tryna tap out, but Ima start working out and bounce back before summer. My mental health has likely been a serious contributor besides my newfound lack of self discipline.

Crazy how this all happens during the prime of my life when I’m starting to make serious money

Yeah, they're almost at mid spine in length. How far along are yours? Two-strand is at least lower lip to the neck, right?

I'm paying $100 for the same: wash, retwist and any style I like. I usually get it done every 3 months but somehow a year went by.

:russ:

These other people and spots are charging anywhere from $160 - $400

:damn:

I've seen some for sub-$100 but they're work isn't as clean as my loctician.

I was paying $60 for a wash + retwist from my old stylist. She was so ill with it but she was too damn unprofessional and ratchet so I had to bush her. I went to a new stylist in January and got everything you did for $90 too :mjcry:

I haven’t gotten my hair done since :mjcry:

Mine are pass my breasts--midback length.

Two strand twists look like this: Two Strand Twists, The Protective Style All Black Girls Should Master - Un-ruly

When you undo the them, locs are wavy and lasts like that for a minute. It keeps them looking neater for a longer period of time (for me at least).

Where do you live? Those prices are pretty steep. I live in charlotte though--down here it's pretty inexpensive for loc maintenance at least in my experience.

Is that expensive to you? I forget yall are brehs, yall ain't used to paying higher prices for hair. I mean I've been going to salons and paying to get my hair done since I was like a teen. These prices ain't nothing. I used to pay upwards of $300 to get my hair braided back when I was in college. :hubie:

Oh yeah, I've always wanted to get those but then she recommends barrel twist and some braided bun joints. For myself, I'm not a fan of the wavy look always try to straighten them out. I've got the Ja Morant look right now and just let them cover my face.

I live in Toronto and have to be really picky. For some reason some women are envious and will try to ruin your hair. Happened to one of my friends.

$300 for braids? I usually drop another $50 for tip or $100 near the holidays but $300, sheesh.

Is this a serious post or a reference to a movie plot? :patrice:

Anyone reading this, remember, everyday is a day for improvement. I’ve been there when you’re at the bottom of the bottom: broke, no woman, live in a shytty apartment, feeling worthless. Most of us have been there.

I can look back and smile and know that built my character to be even stronger. You can’t appreciate being on top of the mountain until you’re in the deepest valley.

It’s never too late to improve your situation. If you’re unhappy with where you are in life, the first step is to recognize it. The next step is to make an exit strategy. It won’t be instant but work each day towards it.

Take it from someone who has been there and done that. One thing I’m grateful for is that I never brought a child into this world whilst I was down on my luck. I would’ve hated myself for doing that to an innocent baby.

Now I know I can pass tangible assets down to my future kids instead of the struggle.
