Xbox One was called that because it was gonna be the "all-in-one" entertainment device. 2 or 3 years from now people will be used to the Series format and when they next-next gen hits they'll probably be XSX2 and XSS2.

I would have loved for Microsoft to keep the code names as the unit name, especially Scorpio for the Series X. That would have prevented the mass confusion.
