was this before or after new yorkers tried to emulate them?

Hip Hop didnt start in the south......NY invented Hip Hop......so when the south started doing Hip Hop they were emulating a New York thing.

If I birth a child and he grows to my height to the point I can wear his clothes......Those may be his clothes and I might look a lil off rocking his style but the child still came from me, regardless of who's clothes I put on.

A lot in of nikkas in the 90s that are praised where just as simple as the nikkas y'all complain about

as long as my favorite artists are still making the music I like I couldn't care less about golden/silver/paper/wood eras.

Uhhh . . . no, golden era was a term used to describe the late 80s :krs:

:rudy: late 80's/early 90's.....Personally all my favorite rap albums come out from 86-96. so we are saying the same sh!t breh.

But my point is you only can define that term based on comparing it to later stuff...implying that this may end up being a "golden era" so to speak based on what's hot 10-15 years from now.

the true golden era is and will always be around 87 - 89..the east was droppin classic after classic, the west coast gained national attention with N.W.A and basically birthed gangsta rap..even the south started getting some recognition thanks to the Geto Boys

:why: @ 2 years being classified as an "era"

How do they suck? Everyone doesn't listen to music the same?

I think rap music sounds better now then it did in the golden era.

We don't have "classics" anymore, cause we are always in search of that new hot shyt....We don't care to let our music age.

back in 96, if you were bumping something that came out in 95... it was still :myman:... today, if you playing something that came out 6 months ago, it's :rudy: shyt is old as hell.

it's 2013, what do we look like playing the same thing over and over when we got new shyt coming out daily?

it's a different age, and the ways/happenings of 15-25 years ago... just aren't applicable anymore....people need to understand that.

:ld: I see your point. I have most of those and still listen to some today. I still think an "era" is more than 3 years. but by your definition...

93, 94 >>>>> 87, 88, 89 :yeshrug: at least twice as many classics.
