I am by no means dismissing the anger and genuine pain of the Black people who are marching and lying down in the streets to protest the very real campaign of genocide that our criminal justice system has sanctioned against Black men and women in this country. I share their outrage and feelings of powerlessness. But at the end of the day, when all is said and done and the speeches have been made and everyone returns home, nothing will change. We will be here months later feeling the same emotions when the next innocent Black man or woman is gunned down and their murderer is cleared of any guilt. The genocide will continue with uninterrupted frequency and the system that mandates this violence against our people will remain unaffected.

We are now in 2014 protesting what has been the response from white America since the end of slavery. Under legal subterfuge, slavery has continued, defended under the rule of laws that were meant to "integrate" us and recognize our God given right to self-determination. Mike Brown existed in 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010. But their deaths are now highlighted by the pronounced racial divisions that have erupted into view in the wake of Obama's presidency.

Liberals and Blacks who've bought into the myth of progress talk about reform. Reform? :what: what are we reforming? Stop killing our men and women. Stop denying us the right to live. all this other shyt? Cameras? Community outreach? :camby:

It's time to rethink this and develop a new strategy that stops asking for acceptance. I don't want your acceptance. I want you to leave me the fukk alone.

But :salute: to the brothers and sisters out there expressing their hurt.
So are you going to take it to the next level?

I was at the Million March yesterday for a few hours and many protesters believe that marching will ultimately solve the issue. Marching is only step one but that's as far as many people are willing to go
That's as far as they can go.

People keep saying more Black businesses and group economics but were are you getting money to invest in this from?

Exactly. Group economics is nice in theory, but in practice not so much.

It's like someone telling you they're broke and hungry and you respond by telling them to buy food.

Well, showing up with signs shows you support or don't support something means at least you care.
Women showing up at a fur store naked to protest the fur industry makes no sense at all.

Unless you've studied war and power and have military or combat training, can organize strategies and tactics and can arm a populace capable of holding off the US Army on its home ground. You ain't ready to pop off. Stop this.

Realistically, all we can do is get knowledge and do good with our people. The current times are a cultural movement, an uprising of the people that's been influenced by hippies and civil rights movement's of the previous generations. Evolve in consciousness.

The revolution will NOT be televised but it might be tweeted.

Man y'all not protesting right, you need to be causing havoc and fear(disrupting their flow) where wall street meets up, congressional leaders meet up, outside police stations, etc.......

The people in power must fear the public, not the over way around.

When people start looting and harassing Rothschilds, Vanderbilts, Rockefeller etc then i'll take these movements about. change. seriously....
Protests bring awareness to an issue. When the right people start dying or living in fear, then change comes about.

These protests are the right start, but nothing is gonna change unless it evolves into something more.

These politicians are still going to sleep at night without a care in the world. Nothing is gonna happen to their families. They still have free health care and lifetime pensions

The cops are still thumping people and arresting them. They aren't sleeping with one eye open. Listen to these union heads. They're as defiant as ever.

What do they care about these protests? They probably love working them. Most of them are probably getting a TON of overtime for it that WE are paying for.

That's what I'm saying, change won't come until the people in power feel shook of the public.....

Once the general public can apply this type of pressure to the police, politicians, and other important officials then judge will come, but for now they'll remain content....

You have to build the infrastructure. Then you can organize.
People keep saying more Black businesses and group economics but were are you getting money to invest in this from?

What exactly are you speaking about?

I think I know, but I'd like to make sure.

and Where do you suggest black people get the money to invest?

People marching in Chicago during Rodney King is what got their awful chief of police out. Obviously it doesn't always bring substantial, tangible change like that but you can't say marching never does anything..

A liberal is someone who tells Black people how to deal with oppression they will never suffer from.

I agree with this^ 100%.

But I also believe the protest are good for awareness... That is the ONLY PART THAT SOME PEOPLE CAN PLAY .

fukk I look like telling at broke, poor 30 year old mother of 3.... that she needs to help me build a fukking community :dahell:? lol , how exactly will she help?

I say do your own part. There are enough black professionals and criminals making money. There are enough people qualified to teach the youth. Everyone can play a role.

As long as you keep thinking of the "answer" as only being reachable through one type of action then you ain't gonna go far. Protesting is PART of the road to the answer, and much like any other machine, a part ain't shyt unless the other parts are moving too.

So protesting is necessary, but so is getting more weapons, so is starting more black owned businesses, so is getting more college degrees, so is rapping more about our efforts to better the community, en fin...there's a lot of ways that must be contributed to reach the answer, and if we slack in one of them then we'll only slow our own progress.
