She’s one of the best well-rounded acts, who also understood how to capitalize on her beauty— like any other star. She made calculated moves to make it to the top, and she worked to put herself in position to do whatever tf she wants musically.
She played the game properly and won.
I will forever love her for that alone.
I can only imagine the amount of BS she encountered as a Black woman, while we got ppl falling out over Taylor Swift performances

I've realized that this is a Black people thing. We debate, rank and compare stuff. That's why we see daily debates about Basketball and Football, but you don't really see that with Baseball and Hockey. That's why we have monthly greatest rapper/album lists and debate this stuff all day, but you don't see the same in Country or Rock music.
Mariah has wayyyyyyyyyyy more slaps for sure and you can actually listen to a playlist of her songs and everything sounds consistent.
