But they have to realize and counter it. Men can't help them all the way. We don't always realize when patriarchy, or any force seen as oppressive, effects us. And we rarely speak up in an effort to save face or out of apathy for the situation at hand.

With feminism, their role in relationship to men is a point in their agenda. Too often it is seen as the main point, as you said OP.

I however don't support black feminism. American Black folks are already too divided. I know that sounds bad but that's my opinion. Black men should treat black women better but a lot pf these bytches are bytches, tho.
