i aint really big into track and field but the fact that this usain is 6'5 and most of these other runners are under 6'1, wouldn't that be an advantage to him in track. usain stride is not like normal runners.

height does not equal speed. If anything its the opposite. With your logic Yao Ming would dominate because of his long strides. The taller you are the more you weight, and the more wind resistance will factor.

If given the opportunity to play D1 football or run D1 track, most dudes would choose football.

What the TS is pointing out is that there's been a shift in preferences for young athletes as far as sports are concerned. 50 years ago, if you were a young Black athlete, boxing, baseball and track were your main opportunities.

Top Black athletes don't box or play much baseball right now. Which is why boxing is in a terrible state right now. As much as I like Floyd, he's lucky boxing isn't the sport of choice for Black men right now.

What does this mean for Bolt and other world sprinters? Well, it means they aren't seeing the best that Black Americans have to offer in track and field. Those dudes are playing football.

If you're 6'5 and Bolt fast, you're going to be playing receiver or basketball in high school and college. Like Randy Moss. Track isn't going to be your priority.

Moss was a world class athlete in his prime. You're telling me he couldn't have been molded into a sprinter if that's all he'd focused on in middle, high school and college?

I guarantee you. If Bolt had grown up in the US, he'd be playing football, not running track.

Yo in a sense you are right he does have an advantage with height..but its pure talent that makes him the champion he is..I remember articles over the past years showing that the average sprinter needs 45-48 strides to do 100m while he only averages 40-41. He has remarkable athleticism and to move his long legs at the rate he does is something that Yao Ming could never do..check out these reads they are interesting

Why am I even conversing with an idiot like you?

Exactly, you the idiot that is bragging about 2 medals, like that something to brag about. How you the champs when your country only have 2 Gold medals. That was a dumbass statement :beli:
