so you are saying that the NFL has a bunch of guys that can run with Usain Bolt? That is what you saying bro. :whoo:

:what: yes if they focused on track only track as an professional sport as well as in there early years yes they would have been able to reach there max potential. bolts improvements in the 100/200m is a byproduct of his hard work and dedication towards both events. look at his # splits when he was in hs compared to now which is when most athletes quit track and focus on ball.

Yo in a sense you are right he does have an advantage with height..but its pure talent that makes him the champion he is..I remember articles over the past years showing that the average sprinter needs 45-48 strides to do 100m while he only averages 40-41. He has remarkable athleticism and to move his long legs at the rate he does is something that Yao Ming could never do..check out these reads they are interesting

No. What I'm saying is a lot of those guys, had they focused on track and ONLY on track in their early years, could have been elite sprinters in their own right.

Randy Moss is probably the best example. His frame isn't much different than Bolt's. Randy had elite speed in his early years.

Yet, like so many young Black athletes, he focused on football and basketball.

Dude I am sorry your comment are speculations that could never be validated..its like a thread where they said if lebron played soccer since he has superior athleticism he would dominate the world...no way..These trackstars like tyson gay have trained for there entire lives..USA is not the god given land of athletes there are some things call talent, which are god given gifts, the best in sports have these gifts, just because you are blessed in one sport does not mean you will be good at others. These statements are biased and untrue...if americans focused on soccer, vollyball, and say hockey would they be the best in the world too? you have to realize other countries have athletic figures too, dont get brainwashed with the USA we are the best thinking show others respect, especially when its due. If not it just comes of as a natural hater, I love seeing greatness and respect whoever whether they are spanish, african, white i dont give a ****

dude. Go look at Gay, Gatlin, and the rest of the US top sprinters times in high school compared to your favorite WR and I guarantee you they are faster. Americas best sprinters are sprinters, not football players.

So what about the women then? They playing football too nikka or is it the WNBA? They losing to West Indians as well.

height does not equal speed. If anything its the opposite. With your logic Yao Ming would dominate because of his long strides. The taller you are the more you weight, and the more wind resistance will factor.

like i said i'm not a expert in this track shyt, i know height doesn't equal speed. but in this case wouldn't it? the stride should make the difference. how many 6'5 track guys u see with the athleticism/talent of bolt. wouldn't he be a rarity? i know carl lewis was 6'3.

This is true....definitely true, the track coaches would have definitely picked them up on the offseason

it has a lot to do with his speed, he's actually a shytty starter if anyone else was to start like him they would lose his strides and speed >>>

Uhhh...Randy Moss ran track one year in high school and won both the 100m and 200m state championship.

His 200m time was equal to the time Bolt was running at the same age.

The difference was that Randy was also playing basketball, football and baseball! Track was just something he did in addition to the other sports.

He was an elite basketball and football player and chose to focus on football. He was the best basketball player in his state in back-to-back years!

He ran a 4.25 in the 40 at FSU, which was better than Deion's time!

And you're telling me that Randy wouldn't have been an elite sprinter had he focused 100% on track?

A 6'4" Randy Moss would have dominated track just like Bolt.

Moss, while a HOF WR, could have been the best football player ever. He had the tools.

These dudes cant answer about the women. What sports are fast US female runners involved in other than track? And they are losing to Jamaicans all the time. This proves there is no difference with the entire US male athletes as well.

Why make $100,000-#1 million dollars running track. When you can make $1 million-$100 million playing in the NBA, NFL, or MLB.

all i see is "would have"

Because when you love doing something, money isn't a factor. Especially if you can still live comfortable off something you enjoy doing.

sigh...
