why would they need gooo to body humans?

Because plot. I assume so humans would suffer more than they would otherwise. But given the alleged time frame, I don’t have a good answer for why a technological advanced race would need a bio weapon to body dudes w/ spears

maybe it was just a weapon to use as needed, not specifically for humans.

or maybe the goo is to turn humans into alien hybrids?

8 years later and we don’t know. It’s almost like there was barely any narrative cohesion.

Real talk, what was Scott’s last good movie? I wanna say American Gangster.

The Martian has gained more popularity since its release, even back then it was nominated for 7 Oscars including Best Picture

I liked Prometheus for what it was. It was a beautiful looking film and entertaining enough. It obviously had some issues but as a night at the movie theater it was a great time.

I hated the sequel Alien: Covenant.

The writing for this movie is mostly Lindelof, don't blame Scott alone.

The plot was driven by way too much plot induced stupidity.
This alien universe did something that most fiction never does, and that’s explain why the people do the seeming dumb things they do. Weyland uses psych profiles for every person that’s on their expeditions to find the organism. And because every movie involves a crew manned by people hand picked by Weyland Industries, they will act in reckless ways despite their expertise and intellect that will create an environment that allows the xenomorph to flourish in some way. The only people to break this mold in its entirety were Ripley and Vickers (who was Weylands daughter) and seemingly not for any bullshyt that these stupid ass scientists were likely to pull. Hence the flame thrower scene.

Eh, that’s giving the film way too much credit. A geologist who made a 3D map of the Cave got lost in the cave.

Watched it for the first time a lil while back.

Kept thinking how did they get Charlize Theron to take such a small part in this movie.. But then I read she was initially supposed to be Shaw but didn't have time because of Mad Max..

You giving Weyland way too much credit. Now they pulling up psych evals and know that certain scientists are gonna do dumb shyt at some point to accomplish their agenda and in turn the plot? They're a greedy weapons company thats only worried about the bottom line. Nah man its just bad writing. How the fukk does a geologists that specializes in advanced mapping technology (the flying robots), is an expert on caves, and the spaceship has real-time tracking technology, as evidenced by the fact the captain is able to tell him he saw "something moving" near him (what he later calls "a glitch"), get lost? Still makes no sense. I guess they psych eval'd that storm coming and knocking out their communications too.:mjlol:

Nah you can't compare the decisions made in the previous series from Marines and other scientists in the OG movie to what these dumb ass scientists did in Prometheus and Covenant. Utter lunacy all around.
